CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC), in collaboration with The Liddle Gallery, will host the Clearfield A.R.T. (Art on the River Today) Festival.
It’s being held to promote the art community in Clearfield County and surrounding areas. It will take place from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Aug. 19 on Market Street between Second and Front streets.
The festival will encompass the visual arts: drawing, painting, sculpting, etc.; performance arts: music, dance and theater, etc.; and media arts: photography, film-making and literature, etc.
The purpose of the festival is to provide a venue for artists and artisans to showcase their talents, to perform and to sell their works.
Application and materials are located on the Clearfield Art on the River Today Web site or can be obtained by sending an e-mail to clearfieldartontherivertoday@gmail.com. Deadline to apply is Aug. 5; the booth fee is $25-$30, if accepted.
Main Street Manager Loretta Wagner said that the community loves other CRC events, such as the Bloom & Berry Bash and the Fall Festival. She said organizers wanted to offer a similar event for members of the art community.
As well, she said organizers wanted to keep the festival downtown, so that local merchants would have the opportunity to participate and be a part of it.
