James A. “Allan” Weis Sr., 76, of Falls Creek died Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home.
Born March 15, 1941 in Old Fort, NC, he was the son of the late Raymond R. and Katherine “Katie” (Connor) Weis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served during the Vietnam War.
On Sept. 16, 1967, he married Joyce (Stankavich) Weis. She survives.
He was a spec tester at Brockway Glass Manufacturing in Brockway for many years.
He was a member of the St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Falls Creek and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois.
He loved fishing and the outdoors. His favorite hobby; however, was photography. He won many awards for his work.
He is survived by a son, James A. “Jamie” Weis Jr. of Brockway; three brothers, Richard “Dick” Weis and his wife, Arlene and Tom Weis and his wife, Linda, both of DuBois, and Jerry Weis of Falls Creek; and one sister, Cathy Snyder of Reynoldsville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Weis.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. with Fr. Matias Quimno officiating. Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
