William Ralph Richards, 71, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 14, 1945 in Muncy, he was the son of the late Earl Leroy and Shirley (Peoples) Richards.
Mr. Richards had been a machinist. He had also worked for the former Clearfield Cheese and Berg Electronics and retired after 26 years of being self-employed.
He had served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of the Olanta Lutheran Church.
On Sept. 5, 1964 in Mahaffey, he wed the former Ida Mae Brink, who survives, along with two children, Shawn Richards of Clearfield and Brenda Strickland and her husband, James of Curwensville.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Emily Strickland of Pittsburgh and Noah Strickland of Curwensville, along with a brother, Earl L. Richards and his wife, Linda of Canoga Park, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Sherry Richards.
At the request of Mr. Richards, there will be no public visitation, and private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Clearfield.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Olanta Lutheran Church, 1856 New Millport Rd., Olanta, PA 16863.
