CLEARFIELD – At a recent meeting Nov. 2 at Pizza Hut in Clearfield, members of the Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council reflected on the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
Each member brought canned goods and non-perishable food items to donate to the local food bank. At this meeting, the council reflected on their past events, as well as started planning for the County 4-H Awards & Achievement Program in February and a field trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park this coming summer.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the council elected their new slate of officers for 2017. New officers include: Ronni Berlin – president, Sydney Turner – vice president, Lauren Turner – treasurer and Kyrsten Kowalczyk – secretary. The council also welcomed new member, Vesta Brickley.
The Clearfield County 4-H Teen Council is a county-level leadership opportunity for 4-H members ages 12 years and older as of Jan. 1. The council promotes the 4-H program throughout the county and plans various countywide activities. Meetings traditionally take place every other month on the first Wednesday.
The next meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 11, 2017 at Valley Dairy Restaurant, located on 18 Hoover Ave., DuBois. The meeting will also serve as a council fundraiser with a percentage of all meal proceeds coming back to support the council.
