Russell W. Hand Jr., 75, of DuBois died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at his home.
Born March 3, 1941, he was the son of the late Russell W. Hand Sr. and Ida (Ledger) Hand. On April 23, 1960, he married Linda (Johnston) Hand. She survives.
He was the owner and operator of Hand Drilling for many years. Prior to that, he worked for Forsyth Drilling for 20 years.
He was a member of the Sandy Township Oklahoma Fire Department. He was a life member of the I.P.& S. Club. He was also a member of the Pulaski Club.
He loved hunting and fishing and old western movies. He loved to be outdoors and travel, but most of all, he loved to work and spend time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Lori Berasi and her husband, Robert of Force, Raymond Hand and Jamie “Joe” Hand, both of DuBois, and Edward Hand and his wife, Pamela of Emporium; a sister, Annabelle “Rose” Witherite of Luthersburg; four brothers, James Robbins, John “Whitey” Robbins and Robert Hand, all of DuBois, and William Hand of Thailand; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Han, III and Steven M. Johnston.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
