James E. Davis, 70, of Hyde died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Born Sept. 30, 1946 in Osceola Mills, he was the son of the late Clarence and Louise (Dumbleton) Davis.
Mr. Davis was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Clearfield and of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Valley Council 10376, in Houtzdale.
He was in the U.S. Army Reserve, a retired deputy sheriff for Clearfield County and most recently employed as a security officer at the Clearfield County Courthouse.
He was a 1964 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Mills High School. He enjoyed Penn State wrestling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Davis.
He is survived by his companion, Debbie Folmar, at home; one daughter, Janeen Davis of York; one son, James E. Davis and his wife, Leane of Ramey; one sister, Joan Howe and her husband, Charles of Hawk Run; and three brothers, Ronald Davis and his wife, Gayleen of Federal Way, Wash., William Davis and his wife, Pat of Houtzdale and Timothy Davis and his wife, Cindy of Tyrone. He is also survived by two grandchildren, J. J. Davis and Emily Davis and his dog, Lacey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills.
