Leonard J. Andrulonis, 86, DuBois died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Christ the King Manor.
He was born in Nanticoke, Pa., June 20, 1930, the son the late Anthony J. and Cecilia (Sosinski) Andrulonis.
On Sept. 1, 1956, he married Josephine Cimino at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She survives.
He attended St. Joseph’s grade and junior high school, graduated from the DuBois High School in the class of 1948 and retired in 1993 from Rockwell International Manufacturing after 44 years of service.
He was an avid baseball fan from the time he was a youth, keeping scrapbooks and statistics each year on the Pirates team and players’ performance.
His Pirates highlight was being at Forbes Field the day Maz hit the game-winner against the Yankee’s in the 1960 World Series.
He loved talking “Pirate” baseball with anyone and everyone. He played baseball for several clubs, including the original Pulaski Generals, and after his playing days were over, he assisted with Little League and VFW Teener League.
He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was also past member of the Knights of Columbus, the former Lithuanian Club, Polish Citizens Club and IP&S.
He is survived by his three children, David Andrulonis and his wife, Sandra of Monclova, Ohio; Karen Francis and her husband, Patrick of Cranberry, Pa., and Julie Quashnock and her husband, Michael of Reynoldsville.
Also surviving are granddaughters, Lindsay Santiago and her husband, Aldi of Puerto Rico, Melissa Heinbockel and her husband, Mark, Jill Quashnock and Mary Beth Bolam and her husband, Patrick, all of Pittsburgh, and Stephanie Lincoln and her husband, Christopher of Dayton, Ohio and grandson, Chad Andrulonis of Chicago, Ill. He also leaves behind five great-grandchildren.
He is survived by brothers, Thomas Andrulonis and his wife, Marilyn of DuBois and Joseph Andrulonis of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Susan Samick and her husband, Francis of Rochester, NY; a sister-in-law, Doris Andrulonis of Sykesville; a sister-in-law, Anna Serafini of DuBois; and a sister-in-law, Marianne Cimino of Sabula. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Andrulonis.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. V. David Foradori as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
