Eddie I. Lauver, 80, of Clearfield died Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born June 29, 1935, a son of the late Claude and Lucinda (Hugar) Lauver.
Mr. Lauver was employed as a delivery man for Wolf’s Furniture, starting at age 17 years and working for more than 40 years until its closure.
He had also driven bus for Fullington for 25 yrs. Mr. Lauver will be remembered for his strong work ethic, as he delivered Meals on Wheels until he was 78 years old.
Throughout all of his employment, he operated Lauver’s Cabinet Shop. He was known for his skill at building gun cabinets. He was Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his son, Gary Lauver and his wife, Carol of Clearfield; a granddaughter, Crystal Provencher and her husband, Michael of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; two great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Gabrielle; and two sisters, Donna Graham of Woodland and Cheryl Leigey and her husband, Jeff of Allport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernetta Ann (Shubert) Lauver, on Nov. 5, 2013 and to whom he was married Dec. 19, 1953. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Rowles.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
The family strongly encourages that in lieu of flowers to please make a memorial contribution to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), 275 21st St., Clearfield.
