Betty Mae (O’Dell) Wilson, 94, of Curwensville, a recent resident of Marion Manor Personal Care Home of Curwensville, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born Jan. 8, 1921 in Munson, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Magilton) O’Dell. Mrs. Wilson was raised in the Cross Keys Section of Houtzdale.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Progressor’s Sunday school class. She had also taught the kindergarten Sunday school class.
She was a former member of the Clearfield Hobby Garden Club.
On Dec. 30, 1941 in Winchester, Va., she wed John W. Wilson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are a daughter and son, Judy Ardary and her husband, Gordon of Curwensville and George Wilson and his wife, Pam of Chestnut Grove.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Holly Bressler and her husband, Matt of Glen Richey, Christine Caldwell of Curwensville, Christopher Wilson and his wife, Megan of DuBois and Melissa Price and her husband, Neal of Oakdale.
In addition there are nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Martha Jean Roos and her husband, Bob of Clearfield as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Dr. Robert S. Ludrowsky officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
