CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield woman accused of making synthetic marijuana and methamphetamines pleaded guilty Friday during plea and sentencing court before Judge Paul E. Cherry.
Amber Renee Dick, 35, 615 W. Front St., Clearfield, an inmate of the jail, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture or distribute a designer drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children. She was sentenced to nine months to three years in state prison.
Her probation on a previous criminal conspiracy/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance case was revoked. For this she was sentenced to 90 days to three years in state prison. Her new sentence will run consecutive to this sentence giving her a total time of one to six years in prison.
Her attorney, Curtis Irwin, noted that she was sent to state prison for an evaluation for the Intermediate Punishment Program in August, but she decided she did not want to participate in that program. In October he filed a motion for reconsideration of sentence leading to her appearing in sentencing court again.
Prior to sentencing, Irwin did ask Cherry to consider making the two sentences concurrent with each other because the revocation was based on the new charges.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, probation officers received information in March that Dick, who is on probation, was manufacturing methamphetamines and K2 or synthetic marijuana at her home.
Police were advised that Dick’s 16-year-old son was also in the home and that she possibly possessed weapons. Officers stood by as the probation officials searched the residence and Dick submitted to a drug test.
Dick was taken into custody and transported to the jail for violating her probation. In an interview with police, Dick admitted to mixing substances to manufacture K2.
A lab report on the items determined there were traces of a synthetic cannabinoid in a pipe, a bag contained synthetic cannabinoid weighing 12.80 grams, residue found in a long glass tube was methamphetamine, five small bags contained 70.59 grams total of synthetic cannabinoid, and residue in a multi-colored tube was methamphetamine, as well as dihydrocodeinone and acetaminophen. Substances used to make K2 were also recovered.
