State police at Clearfield
- A drug overdose occurred Thursday on Wallaceton Road in Morris Township. Further, a 22-year-old Morrisdale man was suspected of overdosing on synthetic marijuana. He was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center as a result. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Sept. 10 along Martin Road in Decatur Township. During the incident, someone allegedly smashed the victims’ mailbox. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- A three-vehicle accident occurred Thursday on the Chestnut Grove Highway in Penn Township. Further, Wilbert A. Quade of Clearfield was traveling south and approaching a right-hand curve in his tractor-trailer. At the same time, Suzzana Wilt of Irvona was traveling north and approaching a left-hand curve. As both negotiated the same curve, Quade improperly did so and partially traveled into the oncoming lane. Wilt attempted to avoid collision by swerving toward the outside of the northbound lane. However, Quade’s driver’s side front tire impacted Wilt’s driver’s side rear tire, causing a tire blow out. Upon initial impact, the Wilt vehicle spun in a counterclockwise direction toward the southbound lane, where its driver’s side faced oncoming traffic. Prior to coming to a rest, a vehicle operated by William Matlack of New Millport impacted the Wilt vehicle; the Wilt vehicle then spun approximately 360 degrees in a clockwise direction and came to a final rest. The impact, however, caused the Matlack vehicle to overturn and impact with the guiderail before coming to a rest. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, state police said. State police received information that a Jeep Liberty was traveling behind the Quade vehicle and in front of the Matlack vehicle. The operator of the Jeep is requested to contact Tpr. Michael Gray at the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred sometime between Thursday and Sunday on Main Street in Bigler Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole an all-terrain vehicle, which was a yellow and blue 1997 Suzuki LT500R. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of harassment/underage drinking occurred Friday on Potter Street in Karthaus Township. During the incident, a 19-year-old Karthaus man allegedly struck a 15-year-old Frenchville girl in the right eye. She then allegedly choked him. Upon investigation state police determined they, along with a 20-year-old woman, had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening; state police notified their parents/guardians. All three were charged with underage drinking; the man and girl were also charged with harassment due to the physical altercation.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of DUI occurred Sunday on U.S. Route 322 in Sandy Township. Further, a 29-year-old Reynoldsville man was allegedly stopped for several traffic violations. While speaking with him, state police allegedly detected a moderate odor of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and other related offenses pending blood test results.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday in the parking lot of Weis Market in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly scratched the passenger’s side door of the victim’s vehicle.
- An incident of theft occurred Sept. 14 on Martin Street Extension in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole a cell phone that belonged to the victim. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- An incident of theft occurred sometime Aug. 25-26 on North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly stole two tarpaulins from the parking lot. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday on Spike Island Road in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly used a sharp object to puncture holes in four tires that belonged to the victim. - An incident of identity theft occurred Thursday on Halfmoon Valley Road in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole the victim’s identity, accessed her account and purchased an iPhone.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Saturday at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took the victim’s LG cell phone from his unlocked car. The phone is valued at $199, state police said.
- An incident of theft/criminal mischief occurred sometime between Sept. 11 and Friday at the Royal Inn in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged three Pepsi dispensing machines to gain entry to the machine. They then allegedly removed several hundred dollars from the machines. The Royal Inn allegedly sustained a monetary loss of $500-$600; Pepsi-Cola Corp. of St. Marys allegedly sustained a monetary loss of $200. - An incident of harassment occurred Friday on Route 219 in Horton Township. During the incident, a 22-year-old Brockway man allegedly struck the victim. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Sunday on Markert Road in Jones Township. During the incident, a 24-year-old Weedville man allegedly broke a window, causing an estimated $100 worth of damage. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North Third and East Locust streets. No injuries were reported and one vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- Police responded to a Nichols Street residence for a report about the alley being blocked to the rear. Upon arrival officers found a large pile of stacked firewood, which was blocking a section of the alley. Police discussed the matter with the code enforcement officer and determined that it was a zoning violation. All of the information was turned over to code enforcement, police said.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with a patient who was injured while playing flag football. The patient was flown to Altoona Hospital, police said.
- Police responded to a vehicle lockout along Daisy Street. Officers were able to gain entry without damage.
- Police responded to a residence along Ogden Avenue for a welfare check. Officers found everything to be OK upon arrival.
- Police responded to a local establishment for a report about a found syringe. Officers took possession of the syringe and properly disposed of it.
- Police received a report about a runaway juvenile who was later located at a residence along Clark Street. The juvenile was returned to her parents without incident, police said.
- Police assisted with a disable bus along Woodland Road near Fairview Avenue.
- Police received a report about a wallet stolen from a vehicle along South Front Street.
- Police responded to a report about tree limbs blocking a roadway. Officers removed the limbs.
- Police received two, different reports about alleged incidents of criminal mischief that occurred to vehicles along the 200 block of East Walnut Street. The incidents remain under investigation, police said.
- Police responded to a waterline break along West Second Avenue. The incident was forwarded to the Water Authority, police said.
- Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle along South Front Street and learned that the driver was wanted by state parole. The driver was taken into custody and turned over to state parole agents, police said.
- Police served a warrant on a male who was in the custody of Lawrence Township police. The male was unable to pay the warrant in full and housed in the Clearfield County Jail, police said.
- Police responded to a vehicle lockout along East Walnut Street. Officers were able to gain entry without damage.
- Police conducted a traffic stop and learned that the driver held an active warrant with the Clearfield police. Officers served the warrant on the male who was able to pay the warrant in full. Citations were filed on the male for the new traffic violations, police said.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of money. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a runaway juvenile from South Fourth Street. The juvenile was located at a residence along Leavy Avenue and returned to her parents, police said.
- Police received a report about an assault involving a male who allegedly almost hit another male with his car along South Fourth Street. The incident remains under investigation with charges pending, police said.
- Police conducted a traffic stop along West Second Avenue. After allegedly failing a field sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for a blood draw. Charges are pending the blood test results, police said.
- Police responded to an East Market Street address for a welfare check. Everything was found to be OK upon arrival, police said.
- Police responded to an alleged verbal domestic dispute between brothers along East Pine Street. Both individuals were separated and warned for their actions, police said.
- Police responded to a report about a suspicious male who was allegedly looking into parked cars along Van Valzah Avenue. The male, however, was gone upon police arrival.
- Police responded to a welfare check along South Fourth Street, where an unresponsive female was to be laying in her front yard. Emergency personnel transported the female to the hospital for treatment.
- Police responded to the 100 block of South Fourth Street for a report about kids who were allegedly throwing rocks at each other while another urinated on the neighbor’s yard. Officers spoke with the parents and advised the children of the repercussions of their actions.
- Officers responded to the hospital for an unruly 302 patient. Officers were able to calm the patient without incident.
- Police responded to a Spruce Street residence for a 911 hang-up call. Police discovered that a child was playing with the phone.
Lawrence Township
- Police assisted individuals who were locked inside of a gate. A key holder was contacted and let them out, police said.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly intoxicated at Wal-Mart.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Woodland Road and Bigler Avenue. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on Mapes Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to contact township police.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance.
- Police responded to a psychological emergency.
- Police received a report about a minor motor vehicle accident at the BP gas station. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged physical domestic dispute/psychological emergency on Daisy Street.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of two bicycles in the area of Brown Street.
- Police received a report about a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located and returned home, police said.
- Police received a report about pills that were located in a local store on Route 879.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual on Powell Avenue. Everything was found to be OK, police said.

- Police received a report about suspicious activity in the area of Charles Road. Police searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.

- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Mapes Avenue.

- Police received a report about males who were allegedly being disorderly on Nelson Road.
- Police responded to a welfare check at Elliott’s Park.
- Police received a report about a suspicious female at the Crown Crest Cemetery.

DuBois City
- Police received a report about a burglar alarm Friday in the 800 block of Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found a construction crew working at the scene.
- While on patrol Friday, police were stopped by employees of a business on South Jared Street. They wanted to report a male who was sleeping in a small wooded area on their property. Police checked on the male who was from Indiana, Pa., and who claimed to be homeless. He left the property to seek assistance, police said.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident Friday in the YMCA parking lot. Police collected information that was available while at the scene. While searching for the suspect vehicle, its operator returned and provided his information.
- On Friday police received reports from passing motorists about a man who allegedly had a rifle on top of a North Brady Street building. Upon arrival police found a roofing crew with tools and not a rifle.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute Friday between a father and son on North Church Street. Upon arrival police made contact with the father who said he’d engaged in an argument with his son about his behavior and lack of respect. Police found there wasn’t a physical assault during the incident, and the son had left prior to their arrival. Police requested the father to call if his son returned and caused problems. Police also searched the area for the son but was unable to locate him.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance Friday on Robinson Street. Upon arrival police found a DuBois man was moving out, and his ex-girlfriend was throwing his clothes into the front yard. The ex-girlfriend, according to police, planned to leave to allow the man to move out. Police asked both to stay civil with each other.
- While on patrol Friday, police allegedly observed a male who was urinating in the 300 block of West Washington Avenue. Police took custody of the male and then released him to a family member. The male was cited for public drunkenness, police said.
Sandy Township
- A 19-year-old DuBois woman reported that as she was backing out of a parked position on East Dixon Avenue on Friday, she didn’t see a white sedan being driven down the road and hit it. The driver of the sedan then left the scene, she told police. Witnesses were able to get the license plate number, and officers were able to contact the 23-year-old Indiana woman. Both women were cited as a result, police said.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Lowes on Friday.
- A tractor-trailer hit another tractor-trailer while attempting to back into a parking space at the Falls Creek Sheetz on Friday. Minor damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
- On Friday a 56-year-old Dubois man alleged that someone took a steel fire ring, half a stack of firewood and a 15-pound blue and white propane tank from his property on Rudder Lane in Treasure Lake.
- On Friday a 61-year-old DuBois man alleged that someone took several deck boards from his campsite at Cayman Landing.
- A vehicle was unable to avoid hitting another that was stopped in traffic in the area of Morningside Cemetery on Sunday. The second vehicle was then pushed into a third vehicle. Minor to moderate injuries and moderate to major damage were reported, police said.
- A 66-year-old Brockway woman reported that when she returned to her vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Sunday, she found a note stating that she hit the writer’s vehicle, and she needed to call and give him/her information. When she called the Brookville man he was allegedly belligerent with the woman who tried to tell him she did not hit his truck. Officers spoke to the man and will review the parking lot video.
- A Home Camp Road woman alleged Sunday that her 16-year-old daughter saw an older man who was described with a long beard and a red shirt and blue jeans, holding a flash light and looking into her window. The man, however, was gone upon officers’ arrival.
- A Harold Bundy Road resident alleged Sunday that a younger male who was wearing a black T-shirt and jeans and carrying a backpack came to his house asking for a ride to Penfield. He said the male was acting very confused and was telling different stories. Officers checked the area but could not locate the male.
