DUBOIS – DuBois Business College, Philipsburg location, was presented the Presidential Award for Contribution to the Quality of Life at the 27th annual Awards Luncheon of the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership held April 24.
This award is given to those agencies that have contributed to a positive quality of life in the Philipsburg community. Stan LaFuria, executive director of MVEDP, presented the award to Jackie Diehl Syktich, president/chief executive officer of DuBois Business College.
Syktich thanked the MVEDP staff and board, as well as Philipsburg and surrounding community residents and business leaders for being enthusiastically involved and for their commitment in making their community a better place to live and work.
DuBois Business College opened the Philipsburg location in April of 2014 with the first group of students. The school offers training for careers in the areas of medical, clinical medical, legal, executive administration, accounting, computer animation, digital photography, graphic design, networking, computer systems support, Web, IT and management. All programs are technology based and students receive a computer in all majors.
DuBois Business College has its main campus in DuBois and campuses in Oil City and Huntingdon. The college offers classes with a four-day class schedule between 8 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.
