GANT RELOAD: Week of March 2

The weekly reload gives readers a look back upon the most noteworthy stories of their work week.  It contains the big headlines, as well as a few stories you might have missed. It might even include a story or two of the lighter side.

The reload will be posted each weekend for your perusal. For most part, the reload will be filled with local headlines, but every now and again, a state, world or national story will make the list.

Marshall Sentenced in AK-47 Theft Case

CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man accused of stealing an AK-47 by putting it in his pants was sentenced in Clearfield County Court.

Sekula Fights with Cops in Store

DUBOIS – A Punxsutawney man is facing charges following a scuffle with police.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office Feb. 20, Christopher Thomas Sekula, 31, 5754 McGees Mills Rd., Punxsutawney, is charged by the DuBois City police with aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal trespass, resisting arrest and harassment following an incident at the Uniformity store on North Brady Street.

Pennsylvania Statewide Roadside Cleanup Planned, Volunteers Needed

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking volunteers for this year’s Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania, which runs through May 31.
