CNN caught up with with New York’s Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer at the Irish pub McSorley’s in Manhattan.
During our conversation, we asked the Senator, who served in the Senate for eight years with Hillary Clinton, whether Clinton should be more engaged on the issue of using a private e-mail account during her time as Secretary of State, “Oh, I don’t know, I think Hillary is great” said Schumer. “I think, ya know, she’s already said she wants the emails out. What do Americans care about? Good paying jobs, good country, good family. All that stuff isn’t gonna matter.”
He also said the use of the private email account will not jeopardize her prospects in 2016, “I think she would be a great President. I’m all for her” he assured.
Stay tuned for more from the interview next week.
