DUBOIS – Chairman Jim Jeffers opened the Sandy Township Supervisors’ meeting by presenting, “… a little overdue but better late than never…” awards to Brady LaBorde and Dick Castonguay.
LaBorde was presented an Appreciation Award for his time as a Sandy Township Supervisor. He served 12 years between 2002 and 2014. It was also noted by the chairman that LaBorde served the township not just as a supervisor, but as a police officer.
Castonguay was then presented an Appreciation Award for his time as the Sandy Township Manager. He served nine years between 2005 and 2013, and according to Jeffers, “…is still serving on committees…”
In other business, previously tabled business was brought forth and voted on regarding the acceptance of the Findings of Fact as presented at a hearing on Nov. 17, 2014.
The previously held hearing was related to potentially dangerous and dilapidated building on Basse Terra Road in Treasure Lake. The supervisors voted unanimously to accept the Findings of Fact after Township Manager Dave Monella explained, “…This isn’t necessarily saying we have to take action on this immediately, but that we’re going to accept the findings that were proposed to us.”
The supervisors were informed that the property owner, Sue Woodland, had not responded to attempts at contacting her.
Sewage Enforcement Officer Jim Keck’s resignation was also accepted by the supervisors.
