CLEARFIELD – On Oct. 18, the Clearfield YMCA will present an evening of stand-up comedy to be held at the St. Charles Café ballroom.
The host and emcee from Boston, Mass. is Benjamin Quick. Although a fairly new comic, he has a very confident and funny stage presence. The stand-up comic/songwriter/guitarist/comedy writer is originally from Syracuse, NY but now calls Boston his home.
In his relatively short career, Quick has already caught on with many comedy clubs throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic states. He is a rising star in stand-up comedy clubs.
The feature performer from Boston is Steve Bix. His appearances include Comedy Central’s Clash, Washington D.C.’s top-rated Capital Comics Live and the nationally-syndicated Grins Comedy Show.
Bix has been opening for musical greats like Herman’s Hermits and Davey Jones, as well as Comedy greats like Richard Belzer, Jon Stewart and Paul Provenza.
Bix was a finalist in The Comedy Showdown, a national competition for comedians in Atlantic City, NJ.
The headliner from northern New Jersey is Tom “The Coach” Whitely. An authentic college football coach of 20-plus years, he blends his “locker room” humor with everyday nuances into a totally insane, high energy, off the wall act.
ESPN2 did a segment on Whitely’s double life as a comic and coach. He has appeared in Comedy at Club 54, seen and filmed in Toronto, Canada, as well as the nationally-syndicated Rascal’s Comedy Hour.
Whitely headlines performances in comedy clubs from Florida to Canada.
This is an adult only comedy show. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m.
Only advance tickets will be available. The admission will include the comedy show, hors d’ oeuvres and banquet beverage.
