Waco, TX, United States (4E Sports) – Tenth-ranked Baylor starting wide receiver Levi Norwood underwent surgery for his injured wrist and will miss at least three weeks.
According to Baylor coach Art Briles, Norwood suffered the injury in the Bears’ season-opening 45-0 victory over SMU.
Norwood, who had four receptions last week against SMU, caught 47 passes for 733 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
Norwood is not the only key offensive player the Bears could be without against Northwestern State Saturday.
Quarterback Bryce Petty has been sitting out practice this week after cracking two transverse processes in his back against SMU.
Briles said he doesn’t expect starting receivers Antwan Goodley (quad) or Corey Coleman (hamstring) to play this weekend, either. The Bears already are without receiver Clay Fuller, who broke his clavicle in August.
