Sky ties up playoff series vs. Fever with double-overtime thriller

Rosemont, IL, United States (4E Sports) – The Chicago Sky trailed by as much as 14 points before winning game two and tying up their Eastern Conference Final series against the Indiana Fever with a 86-84 double-overtime win Monday.

Center Sylvia Fowles led the Sky with 27 points with seven rebounds, three steals and three blocks.

Guards Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley combined for 34 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and three steals to help Fowles.

In game one, the Sky also trailed by 14 points against the Fever and had a run before falling short 77-70.

Sky coach Pokey Chatman stated, “‘It’s second nature for them to bounce back and stick together and feed off each other.”

Chatman also complimented Fowles who was in early foul trouble but still lit up the scoreboard.

”She didn’t melt on screens, she didn’t disappear. She stayed aggressive. We fed the monster. She was in beast mode in every aspect of it,” she said.

Guard Shavonte Zellous was the leader for the Fever, scoring 20 points and adding five rebounds.

Forward Tamika Catchings played well in the extra sessions but made 7-22 field goals overall in a losing effort.
