Denver, CO, United States (NewsBahn) – Denver Broncos wideout Wes Welker has been suspended four games for the use of amphetamines, according to reports.
He reportedly tested positive shortly after the Kentucky Derby, though he argued the results were tainted according to ESPN.
Welker is also dealing with the effects of a concussion and was in doubt for the team’s Sunday opener vs. the Colts.
The loss of one of the league’s most productive receivers leaves the Broncos thin for the position to open the season.
Welker hauled in 73 catches for 778 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
