El Paso, TX, United States (4E) – A 13-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were injured when they fell from a carnival ride at the St. Anthony’s Bazaar in El Paso, Texas on Sunday night.

The two teenagers were on the spinning Sidewinder ride when its door opened flinging them from their seats around 10:09 p.m. They fell 12 feet to the ground.

The victims were taken to the University Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

One rider who got stuck in the Sidewinder also had to be rescued.

The El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit is investigating the accident. No charges have been filed yet against the amusement park operator but all rides were suspended on Monday. The other parts of the bazaar remained opened.

The Sidewinder is a wheel-like ride that spins while being swung side to side. The seats are on the wheel part of the ride.
