Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Taylor Swift will soon take on the role of celebrity adviser in the “The Voice.”
The 24-year-old country and pop princess will be joining NBC’s reality TV singing competition on its seventh season to mentor the show’s contestants. Swift will be joining the show’s core coaches, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as newcomers Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams, as guest mentor.
In the previous season, Chris Martin of Coldplay held the role as music guru to the contestants on all four teams, the role which Swift would take on this Season 7.
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, the show was pleased to have Swift on board.
“Taylor was an absolute pleasure to work with,” the source said. “She had great feedback for all the contestants. She made for an amazing mentor.”
The upcoming season will indeed feature an impressive roster of advisers; aside from Swift, Alicia Keys will be mentoring, as well as Gavin Rossdale, Stevie Nicks, and Little Big Town.
“The Voice” Season 7 will air on Sept. 22-23 at 8 p.m. ET, with a two-night premiere.
On Oct. 27., Swift will release her full-length pop album “1989.”
