Madrid, Spain (4E Sports) – Striker Javier Hernandez expressed excitement after his loan from Manchester United to Real Madrid was completed Monday.
“First I want to say I am delighted to be here, and appreciate that Real Madrid made the effort for me to come here,” said Hernandez after passing a medical.
“To wear this jersey is a dream for any player, to represent this grand institution. I hope things go well for me here. This is a dream come true. There is no player in the world who would say no to joining Real Madrid,” he added.
The 26-year-old Hernandez joined Real Madrid after it agreed with Manchester United on a season-long loan deal with an option for the Liga outfit to buy outright next summer.
Hernandez said he did not think twice when the opportunity arose to leave Old Trafford for the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Hernandez also expressed willingness to play reserve behind Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo as long as he can help his new team.
“I am coming here to do what I can, to give everything for this club,” he said. “The fans will see a player who always gives everything, to try and help the team.”
Asked whether he would be returning to England next summer, Hernandez said his focus now is on the short-term and a possible debut in Madrid’s next Liga game against neighbors Atletico Madrid at the Bernabeu on Sept. 13.
