Montreal, QB, Canada (4E Sports) – Rookie James Rodgers’ touchdown propelled the Montreal Alouettes past the Ottawa Redblacks, 20-10 Friday at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium.

Tanner Marsh connected with S.J. Green to give the Alouettes a 7-3 lead later in the first quarter.

Sean Whyte’s punts in the second and third quarters pushed the Alouettes lead to 9-3.

The Alouettes again drove deep into Redblacks territory but two incompletions later were forced to settle for a 22-yard Whyte field goal and a 12-3 advantage.

The lead became 13-3 with another Whyte punt single just before the quarter ended.

Then the Redblacks’ Wallace Miles received a quick hitch pass and raced for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 13-10.

But Rodgers ran in for a touchdown for the final score.
