Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric and Christiane Amanpour have been the three ladies who were used in Sheila Weller’s new book called ‘The News Sorority’. It seems that the sisterhood in news agencies has had catfights back in the days and now it has been revealed.

These three ladies are some of those who made it big in the media and Weller’s book reveals the low points of these women in the early years of their careers.

Excerpts from the book have been released online and the revelations are shocking.

One of the revelations are from Couric who has accused Sawyer. Weller wrote: “When Diane beat Katie on an interview with a 57-year-old woman who’d given birth to twins. Katie mused aloud, according to a person who heard the comment: ‘I wonder who she blew this time.’” The two started battling out each other back in 2000.

Both women have been labeled as great journalists but with the said revelation, they are definitely put in another light.

Another revelation was from an ABC News staffer who exposed that Barbara Walters and Sawyer did not like each other that much. Their hatred even reached the point of wanting to kill each other just for higher ratings.

Anyway, aside from the controversial revelations, Weller also had great things to say about the three women. Weller wrote: “As reporters and communicators of that which was beyond their control — the news of the world — and as women in a tremendously competitive professional arena in which their gender was an impediment, their ability to strongly control what they could control has been central to their success. Each has been self-aware and self-powering in a different way, and their careers offer lessons in female survival.”

Sawyer has just resigned from being the anchor for ABC’s World News this week and is focusing on being one of the hosts ‘Good Morning America’. Couric is now the face of ‘Today’.

The soon-to-be bestseller will be out soon but no date has been announced yet.
