Kenny Hill break’s Texas A&M passing record in beating South Carolina

Columbia, SC, United States (4E Sports) – Kenny Hill broke Johnny Manziel’s single-game passing record with 511 yards to lead the No. 21 Texas A&M Aggies past No. 9 South Carolina Gamecocks, 52-28 Thursday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The sophomore completed 44 of 60 passes with three touchdowns.

Texas A&M took a 10-0 lead with Tra Carson’s one yard touchdown run followed by Josh Lambo’s field goal from 33 yards.

South Carolina cut their deficit to 10-7 before the end of the first with Dylan Thompson hitting Nick Jones from 69 yards

In the second quarter, Kenny Hill found Ricky Seals from three yards to push Texas A&M’s lead to 17-7 before South Carolina answered with Thompson’s 46 yard touchdown pass to Damiere Byrd to make it 17-14.

Texas A&M had two more touchdowns in the second quarter with Hill connecting with Edward Pope from 14 yards followed by Carson two yard run for a 31-14 halftime lead.

Texas A&M started the third with Hill’s five yard pass to Jerry Reynolds for a 38-14 lead.

Thompson’s five yard touchdown pass to Pharoh Cooper allowed South Carolina to make it closer at 38-21.

Then Carson had his third touchdown run of the game for a 45-21 Texas A&M lead.

Thompson answered for South Carolina with his fourth touchdown pass of the game, connecting with Nick Jones from 10 yards ro make it 45-28.

Trey Williams’ two yards touchdown run in the fourth settled the final score.
