Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Widely recognized as the Citizen Kane of bad movies, The Room became an unlikely cult hit by being known as that film ‘that’s so bad, it’s good.’
Tommy Wiseau, the writer, director and lead actor in the drama is behind what is considered the worst movie ever made; and following the release of his co-star and co-writer Greg Sestero’s book ‘The Disaster Artist’, which takes a behind the scenes look into the making of the film, James Franco has now shown interest in adapting the novel into film.
The erstwhile actor, writer, director, producer, artist and professor has been rumored to be developing a movie that takes a look at the enigmatic creator of The Room, how the film came to be and its growing cult status among film buffs.
With the elder Franco and Seth Rogen attached as producers, James’ brother, Dave Franco, recently seen in alongside Zac Efron in the film Neighbors, is set to star in the movie based on the acclaimed best seller, playing Greg Sestero.
James is also confirmed to direct the film and (although still unconfirmed) is likely to play Tommy Wiseau.
