Jessica Alba’s baby products company, The Honest Company raises $70 million

Sta. Monica, CA, United States (4E) – Jessica Alba’s, The Honest Company, raised $70 million in two years and achiedved a value of almost $1 billion.

The baby product company which was launched in early 2012 specializes in natural and eco-friendly baby needs like diapers and pacifiers.

According to one of company’s investors, 80% of the company’s revenue comes from monthly deliveries of diapers and other products to subscription customers.

Earlier this year Alba spoke about her company in the “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

“I wanted clean, safe, effective products that were affordable and beautifully designed, and I couldn’t find that in the marketplace,” she said.

Aside from diapers and baby products, The Honest Company also sells household cleaning supplies, vitamins, and rolling out cribs that convert into full-size beds for children. Its list of products is available online and selected retail outlets in the United States and Canada and plans to expand to China, England, and Australia.

Alba’s business investor, Jeremy Liew, said that Alba has “unlimited potential.”

“We’re starting to see a lot of demand from her fans around the world. This idea for non-toxic, chemical free products has resonated around the world in developed and developing countries.”

The company is expected to develop other environmentally-friendly, non-toxic products including baby formula and beauty products. Alba, who has two daughters with husband Cash Warren says, “We dream big at The Honest Company and continuously strive to make the world healthier and more sustainable—today and in the future.”
