Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – National Lampoon’s “Vacation” is finally happening after almost getting scrapped last year due to creative differences. The sequel ready to shoot next month, will have “Thor” and “The Avengers” actor, Chris Hemsworth and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” comedian Charlie Day taking on supporting roles.
Ed Helms of the “The Office” will play Chevy Chase’s (Clark Griswold) grown son, Rusty Griswold, while Hemsworth will play Audrey’s husband, Stone Crandall “an up-and-coming anchorman.” Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will appear in cameos.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who penned “Horrible Bosses,” wrote the script for the new “Vacation” movie which will also be their directorial debut.
The movie will be about Rusty and his wife, played by Christina Applegate, trying to overcome his father’s past vacation failures and proves that vacations can be still be enjoyable.
