Independence, OH, United States (4E Sports) – The Cleveland Cavaliers have officially introduced the newest member of their star-studded roster, all-star big man Kevin Love.
Love was acquired from Minnesota after the Cavs offered Andrew Wiggins, Antony Bennett and a future first-round draft pick to the Timberwolves.
According to Love, LeBron James’ decision to return to Cleveland was a major factor for his decision.
The 25-year-old expressed his desire to get traded after missing the playoffs for the sixth straight year.
After LeBron inked his returning deal with the Cavs, Love knew where his destination was.
He said, “LeBron signed to come back, and a few hours later he called me and I said ‘I’m in.’”
“That had a lot to do with my decision. It means a lot to be a part of this organization. Everything in my entire life for the last six years had led me up to this opportunity,” Love added.
Earlier this year, Love asked the Wolves to trade him or to have the chance to leave as a free agent.
Love expressed his commitment to the Cavs and is willing to stay until they win a championship.
“I’m committed to this team and committed long term to the end goal, which is to win a championship.”
Since LeBron’s homecoming, the Cavs have been signing marquee players to build a competitive supporting cast around him.
Love will be wearing No. 0, his original number as a kid and a representation of his home state Oregon.
“I thought this was a chance to start fresh, to pick a new number that would suit me.”
