Shooting incident reported after Wiz Khalifa concert in Calif

Mountain View, CA, United States (4E) – Wiz Khalifa’s sold out concert did not end well for one of the concert-goers Friday night. Policed reported that a man, 38, was fatally shot backstage after the concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre last Friday.

Police officers received a couple of calls about gunshot sbeing heard in the area and arrived around 11:05 to investigate. Spokeswoman for Mountain View Police, Shinto Tanaka, revealed that they saw a man backstage who suffered from multiple wounds due to the gunshot. The man was rushed to the hospital but died Saturday morning.

The man was identified as Eric Johnson who was from Oakland. The information did not come from the police but was reported by ABC7. ABC7 said that friends and family of the victim were the ones who gave out the information as they identified the body.

Tanaka described the suspect as a black man in his 20s who had a short hair and was said to be around 5’6 to 5’8 tall. The man’s clothes were described as a black shirt, white pants, and a red baseball cap. Police also said that the weapon used might be a black pistol with a large magazine.

Tanaka said that the police are still investigating the motive and they have taken it to the social media to ask for any valuable information from those who attended the concert. They said that anyone who might have evidence should call 650-903-6395 or email police@mountainview.gov. They can also send unsolicited text messages to 274637 with the code MVTips. They can also post anything online and use the hashtag #MVPDInfo.

Khalifa has reacted about this on his Twitter and wrote: “Violence is not the answer. My prayers go out to the victim’s family.” The concert had more than 22, 000 people in attendance. The concert was part of the tour, “Under the Influence of Music”.
