New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – In an interview with Antenna Magazine, Shaquille O’ Neal shared his thoughts that Julius Erving for him is the greatest NBA player of all time.

The 4-time NBA champion left out Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Lebron James in the conversation.

“To me, Dr. J was the greatest player ever. But I ask other people, they say Jordan, some say Kobe, some people say LeBron. It’s always going to be a matter of opinion,” O’ Neal stated.

Although Big Diesel answered the question when asked who he would pick between Bryant and LeBron.

“They’re different. LeBron is more of an all-around player — Hey this guy’s open, let me kick it to him. Kobe is more of, Oh, we’re down six? I’m going to shoot it three times and get us six points,” he said.

O’ Neal added, “But they’re both great players. It’s a matter of opinion.”

A lot of reports and online articles disagreed with O’ Neal’s answer.

“This is an emotional choice, so there are no analytics associated with it, and as a matter of fact probably the last 50 years are not a part of it, because I made this decision when I was a teenager,” he said.

O’ Neal also shared his top five of the greatest players ever since he was a teenager.

“”Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor — who is my favorite — Oscar Robertson and Jerry West.”
