Team USA announces final 12-man roster for 2014 FIBA World Cup

New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Team USA just announced the 12-man team that will represent the country in Spain, four hours after finishing off their exhibition game against Puerto Rico at the Madison Square Garden, 112-86.

Guards Kyrie Irving, Derrick Rose, Stephen Curry, James Harden, and DeMar Derozan made it as the official guards for Team USA.

Klay Thompson and late addition, Rudy Gay, looks to add firepower to the team’s offense as small forwards.

Team USA wanted to add size and depth for them to make it through the stages of the FIBA World Cup.

That is why Kenneth Faried, Andre Drummond, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and Mason Plumlee are listed as the official big men for Coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Damian Lillard, Chandler Parsons, Kyle Korver, and Gordon Hayward were the latest cuts from the player pool.

USAB chairman Jerry Colangelo stated, “Since taking over the USA Basketball men’s national team program in 2005, this was without doubt the most difficult selection process we’ve gone through.”

“I’m excited about the 12 players selected and feel we have excellent versatility and the makings of a really good defensive team,” Krzyzewski added.

In their previous scrimmage against Puerto Rico, Curry lead the scoring with 20 points.

Followed by big men Kenneth Faried and Anthony Davis, both played all-around games to assist Curry.

One of the most followed players, Derrick Rose, played as a facilitator scoring six points and dishing out four assists.

Team USA will be facing Slovenia in their final exhibtion game before the World Cup.
