Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – With every second celebrity jumping in on the ALS ice bucket challenge bandwagon, rapper 50 Cent decided to break the ice and do something different: he pledged to donate $750,000 to charity if boxer Floyd Mayweather reads a whole page from a Harry Potter book.
On Thursday, 50 Cent posted a video on Insgatram about the challenge and captioned it, “Floyd will you except my ALS/ESL CHALLENGE: I will donate $750k to a charity of your choice, If you can read a full page out of a Harry Potter book out loud without starting and stopping or fu**ing up. lmao”
Right before this unusual charity challenge, 50 Cent posted an explicitly-worded video on why Mayweather should focus his slurs to others who actually “took” his previous girlfriends away. He was referring to rapper Nelly, who previously dated one of the boxer’s exes, and who now happens to be with his ex-fiance, Shantel Jackson.
The rapper was referring to Mayweather’s MLive interview when he said, “God has blessed me with an unbelievable talent, with fast feet, fast hands, unbelievable defense and a very, very sharp mind. So I’m thankful for that. Of course, hip hop artists, they come and go. They come and go. But I’m still here.”
He and boxing champ were longtime friends until their relationship went sour in 2012 when they had a rift after 50 Cent put up a promotions company in response to Mayweather’s plea for help, and along the way owing the “In Da Club” singer around $2 million in earnings. The two have not been on good terms after that.
