Cleveland, OH, United States (4E Sports) – Coach Mike Pettine hinted that the Cleveland Browns are exploring ways to get Johnny Manziel on the field, including using a two-quarterback system.

Pettine reiterated on radio Friday what offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said about putting in a package for Johnny Manziel as soon it makes sense.

“We could potentially look at a two-quarterback system down the road,” said Pettine, who added that they are doing themselves a disservice without having two quarterbacks ready.

“And people have asked me about potentially a two-quarterback system and having a package for him. That is on the table,” quipped Pettine.

On Wednesday, the coach announced that Hoyer is the team’s starting quarterback for Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“We didn’t see him as truly behind, but it was just Brian had that slight edge,” Pettine said of Manziel. “We’re confident that if we do put Johnny in a game, he’ll play well.”
