Minneapolis, MN, United States (4E Sports) – Mike Aviles drove in two runs as the Cleveland Indians surged past the Minnesota Twins, 5-0 Wednesday at Target Field.
Zach Walters homered in the second inning to put the Indians up 1-0.
In the fourth, Jason Kipnis doubled to bring home Carlos Santana before Aviles singled to plate Kipnis and make it a 3-0 Indians advantage.
Michael Bourn singled in the seventh, scoring Chris Dickerson as the Indians went up 4-0.
Then Aviles homered in the ninth for the final score.
Aviles went 2 for 3 against Twins’ starter Ricky Nolasco (5-9), who gave up four runs in 6 2/3 innings.
Indians starter T.J. House (2-3) gave up four hits while striking out five and walked three. He threw shutout ball into the sixth inning against Nolasco.
