Washington, DC, United States (4E) – Showers and thunderstorms moving slowly eastward into the mid-Atlantic will bring flash floods and travel delays in parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina through Tuesday morning.

The I-40, I-81, I-85 and I-95 corridors are vulnerable to floods, according to AccuWeather.com.

The same slow-moving thunderstorms dumped over 5 inches of rain on the town of Skullbone, Tennessee, which resulted in flash flooding in surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to deliver more rain to the mid-Atlantic later in the week.
