Lexington, KY, United States (4E) – A cluster of showers and thunderstorms will affect parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia from Sunday to Monday, according to Accuweather.com.
One to two inches of rainfall can flood some roads and low-lying areas in Knoxville, TN; Lexington and Louisville, KY; Cincinnati, OH; Charleston, WV; and Roanoke, VI.
Louisville will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain and possible storms on Sunday and mostly cloudy with scattered light rain on Monday.
In Tennessee, the strongest and most widespread storms with the heaviest downpours will develop during the afternoon and continue into the evening. There is 50 percent chance of rain on Monday but it will be weaker and fewer in number.
In Cincinnati, showers are expected from afternoon to evening. Heavy rainfall will arrive overnight and rain will continue through early Monday afternoon. Tuesday will be drier but rain and warmer air returns Wednesday.
The cluster of showers and thunderstorms in moving eastwardly and will reach the coast of the mid-Atlantic by Tuesday bringing heavy rains to a swath of the I-95 corridor from Baltimore to Raleigh, North Carolina. The showers and thunderstorms will expand into more of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York state and New England Wednesday and Thursday.
