Alex Bentley scores 19 to lead Sun in rout of Dream

Ucasville, CT, United States (4E Sports) – Alex Bentley had 19 points and four assists as the Connecticut Sun routed the Atlanta Dream, 84-55 Sunday at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Chiney Ogwumike had 14 points and seven rebounds and fellow rookie Alyssa Thomas added 13 points and four assists for the win.

Bentley scored six in a 10-0 run to give the Sun an early 19-9 lead, which they never surrendered.

The Sun used an 18-1 blast to take a 70-44 lead at the end of the third.

A basket by Ogwumike midway in the fourth gave the Sun a 30-point lead at 79-49.

Despite the win, the Sun (13-21) will miss the playoffs for the second straight season.

Angel McCoughtry scored 10 points to lead the Dream (19-15), which already clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
