Simi Valley, CA, United States (4E Sports) – MMA fighter Jonathan Koppenhaver has been arrested Friday for the alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend, former adult-film star girlfriend Christy Mack.
He was captured in Simi Valley, California by Nevada FIST, a permanent task force led by U.S. Marshals.
The former UFC competitor, whose fighting name is War Machine, has been on the run for more than a week.
Mack accused Koppenhaver of beating and nearly killing her in the morning of Aug. 8.
The alleged assault resulted in 18 broken bones around her eyes, a broken nose, missing teeth, a fractured rib and ruptured liver.
Last week, Koppenhaver entered her Las Vegas home in the middle of the night and found another man there.
Mack said Koppenhaver attacked the other man, identified as reality show star Corey Thomas in reports, and threw him out of the house.
Then, Mack said, Koppenhaver beat her and “sawed much of my hair off with [a] dull knife.”
He threatened to rape her, but could not perform, Mack said.
War Machine was found at an Extended Stay America Hotel, and did not put up a fight.
“I’m not a bad guy, I went to surprise my gf, help her set up her show and to give her an engagement ring and ended up fighting for my life,” he twitted.
Koppenhaver had seven arrest warrants out, five of them for alleged felonies.
