Chicago, IL, United States (4E Sports) – Jose Abreu had three singles and three RBIs as Chicago White Sox blasted the Toronto Blue Jays, 11-5 Friday at U.S. Cellular Field.
Adam Dunn, who also had three hits, and Dayan Viciedo each drove in two runs for the White Sox.
The Blue Jays (63-60) took a 1-0 lead in the first after a single by Adam Lind.
But the White Sox (58-64) answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning.
Singles by Abreu, Viciedo and Jor Danks and a double by C Gillaspie sparked the surge.
In the second, Jose Reyes hit a sacrifice fly that plated Colby Rasmus followed by a two-run homer by Melky Cabrera as the Blue Jays cut their deficit to 5-4.
The White Sox doused the rally with six straight runs for an 11-4 lead.
Viciedo’s single in the second started the rally.
Then in the fifth, Alejandro De Aza, Abreu and Dunn also had singles that produced four runs before a wild pitch by Todd Redmond also plated Abreu.
Lind had a key hit in the sixth after Danny Valencia grounded into double play to drive in the final run.
White Sox starter Hector Noesi (7-8) allowed five earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and two walks in five-plus innings.
Blue Jays started Marcus Stroman (7-4) gave up five runs, five hits and hit a batter while getting only two outs.
