State Police Investigating Attempted Homicide/Suicide

HORTON TOWNSHIP – The investigation is continuing into an attempted homicide/suicide that occurred Wednesday at the Brockport Army & Navy Club in Horton Township, reported state police at Ridgway.

The victim, a 20-year-old Brockport woman, was bartending at the club. At the time, a 31-year-old Brockway man allegedly became upset with the woman who was attempting to close the bar. When an argument ensued, the woman attempted to get the man to leave the club.

While standing near the open door way, the man allegedly shot the victim multiple times with a pistol. While the woman was lying on the porch near the door, the man shot himself and he died at the scene, state police said.

The woman was flown to Altoona for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time, state police said.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Horton Township Volunteer Fire Department, Brockway Ambulance and the Elk County Coroner.
