Kendrys Morales’ two-run homer propels Mariners past Blue Jays

Seattle, WA, United States (4E Sports) – Kendrys Morales hit a two-run home run to give the Seattle Mariners defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-0 Wednesday at Safeco Field.

Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma (11-6) struck out five without issuing a walk in 6 2/3 innings.

Blue Jays starter R.A. Dickey (9-12) allowed two runs and seven hits with four walks in six innings.

The Mariners threatened on numerous occasions to extend the lead, but Dickey was able to strand at least two runners three separate times.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jays went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and left nine runners on base.

Munenori Kawasaki was struck out in the fourth with runners on second and third, while Jose Reyes struck out in the seventh with runners on first and second.

With the win, the Mariners swept the three-game series.
