Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Derek Hough of the U.S. television dance-competition series “Dancing with the Stars” fame nabs his first major acting role in ABC’s third season of “Nashville.”

Hough’s role? A movie star.

Houg will play Noah West, a “beguiling and disarming” 20-something actor who is cast for the role in a biopic of a famous singer and finds his way into the lives of the Nashville residents.

Hough will appear not just in one episode of the hit musical-drama TV series, but in a multi-episode arc.

An Emmy winner for his choreography work on “Dancing with the Stars,” Hough also did a one-episode guest role on April 25 in ABC’s romantic sitcom “Better With You,” as dance instructor Phillip.

Hough, however, will not be leaving “Dancing with the Stars” for his seemingly new career as an actor. He will return on Season 19 of “Dancing With the Stars” with a new partner.

“Nashville” returns for Season 3 on Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET.
