Rory’s glory: McIlroy wins fourth major by clinching PGA title

Louisville, KY, United States (NewsBahn) – With the draining of a short putt and a pump of the first in the air, Rory McIlroy clinched his fourth major title with Sunday’s win of the PGA championship.

McIlroy held off Phil Mickelson to win by a shot with a par on the final hole, despite darkness setting in on the Valhalla Golf Course.

The winner finished at -16 inder while ‘Lefty’ was -15.

Henrik Stinson and Rickie Fowler tied for third at -14 under, while Jim Furyk’s late charge had him next at -12.

McIlroy shot a final round 66, while Mickelson was terrific but left a few putts on the course and shot a 69.

Ryan Palmer shot a final round 65 to tie with Furyk at -12.
