Miami, FL, United States (4E Sports) – Ray Allen has reportedly told people close to him of plans to hold off retirement, but not necessarily to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
While the Cavs are the frontrunner for Allen, sources say the 10-time All-Star has not completely decided where he will play.
At 39, Allen’s goal is to win a third NBA championship and will only consider playing for title contenders.
Allen was a key bench contributor for the Miami Heat this past season, averaging 9.6 points while shooting 37.5 percent from 3-point range.
He struggled with his shot as a game 5 starter vs. the Spurs, failing to reach double-figures despite the significant role.
Publicly, Allen maintains that he is still considering retirement.
