Levi Mitchell ignites four touchdowns as Stampeders outplay RedBlacks

Calgary, AB, Canada (4E Sports) – Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell ignited four touchdowns to lead the Calgary Stampeders in outclassing the Ottawa Redblacks, 38-17 Saturday at McMahon Stadium.

Mitchell rushed for eight yards into the end zone with 7:07 left in the first to put the Stampeders up 7-0.

The score became 14-0 at 12:08 of the second after Jeff Fuller hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Mitchell.

Then Marquay McDaniel brought home a 22-yard touchdown pass from Mitchell for a 21-0 Stampeders lead with 2:30 left before halftime.

Chevon Walker rushed for a one-yard touchdown at 1:36 of the second quarter towards cutting the RedBlacks’ deficit to 21-7.

But Mitchell swiftly answered 48 seconds later, connecting with Jabari Arthur from 17 yards for another touchdown to put the home team up 28-7 at the half.

A 12-yard field goal by Rene Paredes at 8:49 of the third expanded the Stampeders lead to 31-7.

RedBlacks receiver Wallace Miles hauled in a 32-yard pass from Henry Burris with 4:42 left in the third, cutting the Stampeders’ lead to 31-14.

Two more field goals by Paredes gave the Stampeders the final margin.

Mitchell finished 26 of 36 for 289 yards.

Burris was 20 of 29 for 281 yards.
