South Bend, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly announced Saturday that wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. will miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a Grade 3 groin tear.

Hunter attended training camp at LaBar Practice Complex using crutches.

He started receiving platelet-rich plasma treatment last week and will have two more in the coming weeks.

The son of Detroit Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter, he is an outstanding four-star prospect in the Class of 2013 and is the nation’s No. 12 receiver and ranked No. 95 overall.

Hunter Jr. sat out last season to fullyrecover from a leg injury from his prep days before suffering the groin tear.

Notre Dame is trying to find a receiver replacement for T.J. Jones, but leading candidate DaVaris Daniels was suspended for academic violation and is slowed by a groin tweak.

The Notre Dame Receiver rotation looks to be lacking now that Hunter Jr. and Daniels are out.
