New York, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Fanatic, an online licensed sports retailer and NBA’s online store provider, admitted the company did not manufacture Andrew Wiggins replica jerseys since trade rumors circulated.
The Love-Wiggins rumors halted earlier this week as the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed in a deal which sent the coveted Kevin Love to the Cavs.
While 2014 No. 1 pick Wiggins was sent to the T-Wolves.
According to Fanatics representative Meier Raivich, they had a month to deliver the jerseys after Wiggins signed with Cleveland.
But as rumors started to spread, they decided not to print the No. 21 replica jerseys, according to ESPN.
Fanatics and NBA store sites had the “discontinued” feature for Wiggins jersey last week.
This means online buyers who wanted to purchase the replica jersey must custom order it.
Raivich said the jerseys that were sold are shipped as were any authentic jerseys that were purchased.
Online shoppers who already received their Wiggins jerseys will have the privilege to return them even in worn condition without the tags.
