Indianapolis, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Former Indianapolis Colts running back Chris Rainey did his part to keep the team’s preseason game against the New York Jets quite interesting.
The Jets defeated the Colts in Thursday’s game, 13-10.
Rainey fired verbal shots against his release and his status through Twitter.
He tweeted, “Yea I’m piss watching the colts game when I should be out there, too. Even tho i didn’t break no f—– team rules, not even.”
Colts coach Chuck Pagano announced in July that Rainey was released after breaking a team rule.
A few minutes later, Rainey followed his tweet calling out former teammate Daniel “Boom” Herron as he scored a touchdown.
“Nice TD Boom even tho u was in the hallway with me that nite when we was horsing around with the fire extinguisher. Man up like I did.”
Rainey deleted the tweets but a number of fans and followers already had the chance to take screenshots of the post.
The Colts signed Rainey last year and he played two games for them.
He returned six kickoffs for 131 yards and four punts for 29 yards.
Rainey was picked in the fifth-round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
