Cleveland, OH, United States (4E Sports) – The Cleveland Cavaliers have released their 2014-15 preseason schedule, which includes games against coach David Blatt’s former team and LeBron James’ former squad.
The Cavaliers will take on Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv on Oct. 5 at Quicken Loans Arena and the Miami Heat, which James led to two titles, on Oct. 11 in Brazil.
The Cavs-Heat game will be the NBA’s second game ever in South America. The Cavs will take on the defending Eastern Conference champions at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
A part of this year’s NBA Global Games, the game will allow Cavs center Anderson Varejao to play an NBA game in his homeland for the first time.
The seven-game schedule includes games against the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 14, the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 15, the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 17, and the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 20.
The Cavs also will play two games on college campuses, at Xavier’s Cintas Center on Oct. 15 vs. Indiana; and at Ohio State’s Schottenstein Center on Oct. 20 vs. Chicago.
The team says preseason ticket information and broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
